In business since 1965, Gentry and Painter Masonry realized the time had come for the company to get online. Gentry and Painter Masonry approached Elm Creative wanting a website. However, after brainstorming sessions with us, company leaders realized they wanted more than a website. They wanted rebranding.
We collaborated to develop the new identity of the company as G&P Masonry—a name that stays true to the company’s history and heritage in Chattanooga, Tennessee but also lends its hand to a more contemporary look and clearly describes the work the company does.
The logo is traditional in feel, but its simplicity and cleanliness is modern. This ties into one of G&P Masonry’s key messages of honing an ancient craft in a cutting-edge manner. The design was conceptualized with applications on trucks, hard hats, banners, and other paraphernalia customary to the masonry industry in mind.
For the website, G&P Masonry wanted it to serve primarily as a billboard for the East Tennessee company for general contractors and potential employees. For this reason, we employed key words in the content to ensure SEO for those searching for masonry companies in the region. We also highlighted employment benefits and made it easy to apply with an online application.
The company is a unique dichotomous blend of being a family-owned business of more than a half century but modern in its field. We wove this message throughout the website content, as well as, the its visual identity, including the tagline, “Professional craftsmen. Quality masonry.” This tagline quickly communicates that it is a standout in service and work, appealing to potential customers and employees.
